Do I need a neutral wire?
Yes, and it is the most important point. A smart switch needs permanent power to stay connected to the network, and that requires a neutral wire inside the back box. Newer buildings in Kuwait usually have one, while in older flats the neutral may run straight to the light fitting. If you see only two wires there probably is not one; three or more is a good sign.
Will it fit the existing back box?
A smart switch is thicker than an ordinary one because it carries a circuit board, and it needs a box at least 35 mm deep. The plate is 86×86 mm, which is the standard size in Kuwait.
What is the difference between Zigbee and Wi-Fi?
Simon i7 switches run on Zigbee, which is steadier than Wi-Fi because every switch acts as a repeater, so coverage improves as you add more switches and you are not loading the router with dozens of devices. In return, Zigbee needs one central hub in the home.
The bulb flickers or stays dimly lit — why?
Cheap LED bulbs can flicker if the switch draws a small current through the circuit. Having a neutral solves this completely; if it persists, the cause is usually the bulb driver rather than the switch.
