Smart lock prices in Kuwait range between 85 and 275 Kuwaiti dinars depending on the door type and the level of security. The smart cylinder is the cheapest at 85 KWD, aluminium door locks run between 125 and 130 KWD, and full main-door locks between 235 and 275 KWD. All of these prices include installation inside Kuwait, with no additional fee.

Why do the prices vary so much?
The difference between an 85 KWD lock and a 275 KWD one is not the number of features on paper, but four tangible things:
1. Body size and bolt type
A smart cylinder replaces only the cylinder and uses the metalwork already in the door, which is why it is the cheapest option. A full lock comes with a mortise body and a double or triple bolt that engages the door frame, and that is what raises both the cost and the resistance to forced entry.
2. Unlocking methods
Every unlocking method adds a component: a fingerprint reader, a capacitive keypad, an RFID card reader, a Bluetooth or WiFi module. Locks above 200 KWD combine five or more unlocking methods, plus a mechanical backup key.
3. Motor and battery
Cheap locks use a motor with plastic gears that wear out after a few thousand cycles. In a home where five people come and go daily, that means two to three years before the lock starts sticking. Higher-grade models use metal gears.
4. Warranty and spare parts
A lock bought from a local supplier who stocks spare parts is fundamentally different from one imported individually. If the keypad or fingerprint reader fails after a year, it can be replaced on its own rather than buying a whole new lock.
Technical note: why we avoid cheap locks from international shopping sites
You will find similar-looking locks at 20 or 25 KWD on international shipping sites. From the repair requests that reach us, these are four recurring problems:
- The backset size is wrong. Most imported locks are designed for a 60 mm backset, while Kuwaiti aluminium doors are usually 25 or 30 mm. The lock simply does not fit.
- There is no Arabic app. Some locks only work with a Chinese app that requires a Chinese mobile number to register.
- Remote control needs an extra component. Most TTLock locks work over Bluetooth only, and need a separate gateway to open the door while you are away from home. Ask about this point specifically before buying.
- There is nobody to fit it. Most aluminium technicians will not fit locks they did not supply, and the separate installation charge eats up the price difference.
A worked example: what does a whole apartment cost?
An apartment with one main door and three internal doors, two of which you want to secure:
- Main door: full smart lock — 235.000 KWD including installation
- Office door (wood): T2 lock — 110.000 KWD including installation
- Storeroom door (aluminium): S35 lock — 125.000 KWD including installation
