Do I need a neutral wire?<\/h3>\n

Yes, and it is the most important point. A smart switch needs permanent power to stay connected to the network, and that requires a neutral wire inside the back box. Newer buildings in Kuwait usually have one, while in older flats the neutral may run straight to the light fitting. If you see only two wires there probably is not one; three or more is a good sign.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The bulb flickers or stays dimly lit \u2014 why?<\/h3>\n

Cheap LED bulbs can flicker if the switch draws a small current through the circuit. Having a neutral solves this completely; if it persists, the cause is usually the bulb driver rather than the switch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
